Aqua WSN
Project Introduction
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) play a very important role in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and have attached a lot of attention lately. The importance of these networks is increasing exponentially due to the fact that they are a promising approach for wide variety applications. Nowadays, WSNs are used in a large filed variation. One of them is to monitor environmental conditions like water quality which is the focus of the Aqua WSN project.
The Aqua WSN project is under the Communication Systems Design Fall 2007 (CSD Fall 2007) course at KTH. The objective of the project is to develop a WSN infrastructure for water quality management. The WSN will be deployed in Malawi at the Blantyre Water Board which provides drinking water for the city of Blantyre and other peri-urban areas in the vicinity of Blantyre. The sensors involved should be as low-power as possible. A dedicated device should be developed to visualize the results of the measurements.
