Last week, I concentrated on designing another experiment to test the system power consumption and estimate the system life. According to the last test, the system life depends on the battery life of SunSPOT. In this experiment, the estimated life of SunSPOT is similar to the results of last test. Another issue is the life of 90FLT device. According to the 90FLT manual, the power source is a build-in 7.2V rechargeable Ni-Cad battery. However, the max battery level data shown on device screen is more than 7.9V. This maybe make the estimation not accurate. Fortunatly, I found he information of 90FLT manufacture on Internet. It shows that the device can work for over 40 days continuously when it reads data every half hour and it wakes up for 3 minutes every time. According to this information, the life of 90FLT in our system is almost 1000 days which is the same result of last test. So the system life still depends on the life of SunSPOT. The system is completely qualified for the application requirement. I updated the report in deliverable page. It can be downloaded here.
Today, I finished the technical goal part. I'll work on experiment result part in next day.
By the way, congratulations Chen and Cao. We were stuck by this problem so much days. Finally, it is solved~!
